Kim Akiyama

Creativity has fed me from a young age. I was nicknamed “Kimi Craft” when I was a kid and my friends would laugh at the mini apartment my locker became every year when school began. As I studied interior design at Seattle Pacific, I was challenged, moved, and inspired. I’ve learned that design is much more than finishes and furniture. Design impacts all aspects of the built environment, including things that cannot always be seen. I love that design is anything but steadfast; it is always changing, evolving, and improving. I aspire to do the same.

Education: BA from Seattle Pacific University in Interior Design, 2009
